Facebook & Instagram Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Introduction

If you have connected a Facebook Page or an Instagram Business account to GetDandy, you can ask us to delete the data associated with that connection at any time.

This page explains exactly what gets deleted, how to make the request, and how long it takes. You do not need a GetDandy account to read these instructions, and you do not need to be logged in.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request deletion of your Meta integration data, GetDandy removes:

  • Facebook access tokens — the credentials that allow us to act on your behalf
  • Instagram access tokens — the equivalent credentials for your Instagram Business account
  • Connected Facebook Pages — the Page IDs, names, and connection records stored in your GetDandy account
  • Connected Instagram Business accounts — the account IDs, usernames, and connection records
  • Cached Meta account information — any profile details, Page metadata, or account information we stored to make the integration work

Once these are deleted, GetDandy can no longer access your Facebook or Instagram accounts, publish content to them, or retrieve data from them.

Important: This deletes your Meta integration data only. Your GetDandy account, your reviews, your uploaded content, and the rest of your business data remain intact. If you want your entire GetDandy account and all associated data deleted, you need to request that separately — see Full Account Deletion below.

Deleting your Meta integration data does not delete anything from Facebook or Instagram themselves. Posts already published to your Page or profile stay there unless you remove them within Facebook or Instagram.

How to Request Data Deletion

Choose whichever method is easier for you.

Option 1: Disconnect from your GetDandy dashboard

  1. Log in at app.getdandy.com
  2. Go to Settings → Connections
  3. Find the Facebook or Instagram connection
  4. Click Disconnect

This immediately revokes and deletes the stored access tokens and connection data. Once disconnected, GetDandy can no longer access your Meta account unless you reconnect it.

Option 2: Email us

Send an email to support@getdandy.com with the subject line:

Meta Data Deletion Request

Please send it from the email address associated with your GetDandy account, and include your business name so we can locate the right records. We will confirm receipt and let you know when the deletion is complete.

Option 3: Remove GetDandy from your Facebook settings

You can also revoke our access directly from Facebook:

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings
  2. Select Business Integrations
  3. Find GetDandy in the list
  4. Click Remove

This stops GetDandy from accessing your Meta accounts going forward. To also delete the data already stored on our side, use Option 1 or Option 2 above.

Meta’s own guidance on removing app access is available at facebook.com/help/204306952528565.

Processing Time

We process all Meta data deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them.

Requests submitted through the GetDandy dashboard (Option 1) take effect immediately. Requests sent by email are typically completed within a few business days, and always within the 30-day window.

What happens after you submit a request. When we receive your request, we acknowledge it by email and assign it a confirmation reference number. Keep this reference — you can quote it when contacting support at any time to check the status of your request. We will send a second email confirming once the deletion has been completed.

If you submitted a request and have not received an acknowledgement within a few business days, email support@getdandy.com and we will look into it.

Full Account Deletion

If you want your entire GetDandy account deleted — not just the Meta integration — you can:

  • Go to Settings → Account in your dashboard and select Delete Account, or
  • Email support@getdandy.com with the subject line Data Deletion Request

Full account deletion removes your account information, business data, uploaded content, and all connected integrations. Some records may be retained where we are legally required to keep them, such as billing and tax records.
